CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL PARTICIPANTS!
This year's race was relatively flat with some little pushes to be found as you paddled around the course.
With the longest race starting at the Marina pier out to the Bell Can then over to Kingfisher lodge (approximately) and round the buoy and back to the marina...there were several "little races" within the larger race and what we can say for sure, is that each and every paddler worked hard!
The Comox club members and event organizers would like to say a big thanks to everyone for coming out - up and over! Without you, this race would not be near as fun or exciting! Until next year - or next time - Mahalo!

Course Descriptions |
ISLAND IRON 2023 Saturday's OC6 races (both the Short and Long Courses) will be determined based on the conditions on the day. We will strive to ensure that the courses are both challenging and of course safe. Traditionally we have started from the Comox Marina and headed out around Goose Spit - out to the buoys towards Denman Island and back. The Small Boat course will also be determined on the day of the event, based on conditions and is usually between 10 and 12 kilometers. The course will consist of a mixture of protected and open water. Event Site and Trailer Parking Comox Marina: https://goo.gl/maps/192jiKpdWAfLXwcWA We will have trailer spots reserved on Friday night and Saturday night at the Comox Marina Boat Launch. You may leave your rigs here overnight both nights if you wish but please be aware that although we feel security is not an issue, there will be no continuous supervision on-site and we can't guarantee the safety of your equipment. We do have options for storage at private properties - email comoxvalleycanoerclub@gmail.com for details. Food and Bevies There are three awesome food trucks on site at the Comox Marina Park. There are also numerous amazing eateries and shops just a short walk up to Comox Avenue. |
